Midlands Hurricanes Wheelchair was formed in 2026 after we adopted the existing Hereford Harriers wheelchair side, who have been existance since 2014. The Harriers name will continue as a development side.
Hereford play in the RFL Cheelchair Championship. They have won the RFL Challenge Trophy twice, the first coming during the inaugural competition in 2018 and again in 2024, where they also finished top of the Championship West table.
They also competed in the WRL Wheelchair Invitational League in 2023-24, reaching the final in their first season. They currently play their games at the Leominster Leisure Centre, Coningsby Road, Leominster, HR6 8LL.
Our new side will play in the eight-team RFL Wheelchair Championship. Our opponents in the 2026 season will be Batley Bulldogs, Castleford Tigers, Gravesend Dynamite, North Wales Crusaders, Rochdale Hornets, Wakefield Trinity and York RLFC.
In addition to the announcement of our partnership with Warwickshire County Cricket Club, we can confirm that 2026 Season Ticket holders will be able to watch all Midlands Hurricanes Wheelchair Rugby fixtures free of charge.
